What if you aren't able to get a promotion?

It's been a while!!!! This has been an amazing and very busy summer! In July, my daughter, her best friend and I spent a week in Disney World!!! Always magical. We returned and, 4 days later, drove up to New York City to meet my niece for a weekend! We enjoyed some delicious Italian food and saw "Frozen, the Broadway Musical." Again, we returned and, again, 4 days later, the entire family returned just outside New York City to visit my husband's mom, on our way to a week stay in the Adirondacks. If you have never been to upstate New York, the area around Lake Placid is the place to visit. I returned home only to turn around and get my son to VMI for his junior year. And then, teachers reported to work. Last week was our first week with students...it's going to be a great year!!!! :)
So, about the title! As most of you know, I have been an independent agent working with MVP, an authorized Disney Travel agency for just 9 months. It is not my full time job, so learning as I go has been slow. My excitement and love for all things Disney has only increased exponentially.
Still, I have plenty of things to learn. Case and Point: When promotions are released, all of us agents check our client's reservations and call Disney to see if any of our clients qualify, (It is always great to save money for our clients). Well, I have clients going to WDW in October. A promotion was released, I called Disney. They actually qualified for the promotion, but all rooms set aside for the promotion were booked. Fast forward to yesterday. This client sent me a text, saying she had heard about this promotion. I let her know that I had checked already, but would check again.
And guess what!!!! There had been cancellations and this client was able to take advantage of the promotion. It saved her a little over $300.
Lesson learned: I will now call Disney once a month and run through all my clients' reservations to see if they now qualify for a promotion!!!!
Another reason to book through a Disney Travel Agent!
